Autumn in New York Shawl

Yarn - Noro Kureyon sock - 2 skeins
Colorway - S92 Lot B
Needles and size - Addi Turbo US 4

Start of a New Year and a finish of the shawl I started in November. I am going to list this as Finished in 2008 since all but 10 rows were knit during this time period.

This shawl is straight forward to knit and would make a good first real lace project since there is nothing really difficult about it. Because I knew I wanted a longer shawl I knit the repeat of Pattern A then followed along as written to chart E where I went back to the chart D repeat and added a slight mod as I went along to line the pattern up. Realizing at this point I should have jumped back to chart D at row 142 but having done 6 very long rows and not wanting to rip that out I made the mod to the edging and middle as I knit along back to chart E. Everything worked out great.

The shawl was blocked and now finished to wear!

50 State Traveling Shawl for the Cure

This past Friday the 50 state Traveling Shawl finally made it to me from South Carolina. The design is by Kay Meader and each of us have 6 or 8 rows to knit before it heads of to the next state. I quickly knit my 6 rows with the 3 cats vying for a spot on the lap. When done I headed out to take photos and then got it ready for the trip to Sewanee, TN today. I met up with Daria the next knitter near one of the eateries and then DH and I had fun walking the campus and looking at the recently completed buildings on campus.
