Places I visited last Fall

Boise, Idaho

A week after Oregon work sent me to Boise, Idaho where I learned that all those Bronco stickers weren't a reference to Denver's pro team. Could have fooled me. This town has a lot of really diverse places to eat. While there we checked out Gernika a restaurant that served basque food. It is food from Spain which has some other European influences. We also ate at Bardenay restaurant that had its own brewery of liquors that come from potatoes. They had really good mixed drinks and their own brew was quite tasty. While here there was lots going on from the local Symphony to the band The Killers. I learned that the local university team Boise State has a blue astro-turf field and that this area was a settlement for Chinese Immigrants. They have 30 miles of walking trails along the river through town, so lots to do and a good place to visit.

Wright Flyer
The next month I took a trip with my parents to a family reunion in Greenville, NC. This is about 75 miles from the Outer Banks so this gave me a chance to finally check out the Wright Museum, see the shore, and check out a light house. This also let me see both the East and West this year.

In December I got to go to DC for the day and a co-worker drove us around to see the Christmas lights. It had snowed the weekend before we came into town so snow could be seen from the sky still on the ground.
