Spring Tease

spring flowers

This week has seen much warmer temperatures and so the early flowering narcissus have finally opened. The ones in the photo are all fragrant. Makes for a nice bouquet for the house.

Also in bloom is my white flowering jasmine vine. This one is rated for zone 9 and came from White Flower Farms many years ago. It spends its days outside once night temps stay in the 50s and comes in during the winter where it stays in the garage until Dec/Jan (depends on how cold it gets outside). This plant needs some cooling and semi-dry time to set its flowers. Once they start setting aound the end of January it moves to a Southern window where I keep it watered essentially living with the phals that are overwintering in the house. This plant is worth
growing for its flowers and it smells delish. A great addition to the winter months.

Now it's only a matter of time until gardening season will be upon us!
